Renowned Tanzanian musician Zuhura Othman Soud, better known as Zuchu, has shared a heartwarming and deeply personal moment with her fans, revealing that she is building a beautiful mansion for her mother, the iconic Taarab singer Khadija Kopa.
In a proud and emotional Instagram post, Zuchu shared a video from the construction site, showing the early stages of the home, which will feature five spacious bedrooms.

With a beaming smile, Zuchu expressed her joy and gratitude, writing: “Building my mum a 5-bedroom house. I am so proud of me. Alhamdulillah š¤.”
For Zuchu, this project is more than just a homeāitās a tribute to the woman who raised her with unwavering love and sacrifice.

Khadija Kopa played an instrumental role in her upbringing, especially since Zuchuās biological father, Othman Soud, was absent throughout much of her childhood.
Despite her mother’s best efforts to foster a connection between father and daughter, Soud, who worked as a prison warden, showed no interest in forming a relationship with Zuchu.

In a candid TikTok video, Zuchu shared the pain of growing up without a fatherās affection, revealing:
“The things my mom did for my dad, I would never have given him a child. My mom tried to make him be close to me, but he never showed interest.
Adding, “They never stopped communicating, yet he never asked about me. She would even say, āZuhura is here, talk to her,ā but he just didnāt care. My mom did so much, but he simply didnāt want me.“
Now, as a successful artist in her own right, Zuchu is channeling her gratitude and love into this monumental gesture, building her mother a dream home as a way of honoring her sacrifices and the incredible strength she showed in raising Zuchu on her own.
Itās a powerful reminder of the unbreakable bond between mother and child, and the deep love that drives Zuchu to give back to the woman who gave her everything.
