Mark my words: Ruto will win in 2027,he is unstoppable – Musalia Mudavadi draws from decades in politics

Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, has firmly ruled out any possibility of President William Ruto being defeated in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Speaking with conviction, Musalia Mudavadi acknowledged the evolving political landscape but emphasized that President Ruto’s connection to the people and his leadership vision places him in a commanding position to secure a second term.

“Despite the shifting political winds, the President’s resolve and focus remain unmatched. He still stands a big chance to clinch his second term,” he said.

With an impassioned call to his Western Kenya community, Mudavadi urged them to stand tall, stand united, and rally behind a shared vision for the region and the country.

“I want us to remain focused and forthright as a people of Western Kenya. We should stop this blame game and work towards a common goal,” Mudavadi urged, with a tone both firm and hopeful.

In a gesture of reassurance to all Kenyans, he reminded the nation that State House is not a fortress for a few, but an open door to every citizen.

“The State House door is open and it has always been open for all Kenyans. President Ruto means well for every Kenyan and every region. We should embrace him more,” he added.

In a broader political reflection, Musalia Mudavadi addressed the uncertainty felt by many, pointing out the importance of strategic direction in turbulent times.

“I stood here in the run-up to the 2022 elections and showed you (Western Kenya) the direction the country was taking. Many didn’t believe me, and many thought it was a joke but those who went to the other side have now joined us,” he reminded them.

With seasoned clarity, he projected the outlook for 2027.

“I have been in politics for a long time, and I have looked at it again, and I want to tell you—it will be very difficult to beat William Ruto in 2027. I am the one who led you to NASA in 2017 and later gave you the Earthquake in 2022. Now we are in the broad-based arrangement, and I want you to be ready for the next direction I will give you ahead of 2027.”

Mudavadi highlighted the bipartisan alliance forged between President Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, describing it as a moment of political maturity for the nation.

“We have to work together. And you saw myself and President Ruto campaign for Raila for the African Union Commission Chairmanship. Raila is a person whose faculties are intact. As the ODM leader, he made a decision for his party to work with Kenya Kwanza so we should stop this notion of looking at things in the prism of black and white. We as Kenyans have better things awaiting us in the near future,” he explained.

Without mincing words, Mudavadi addressed political dishonesty and misdirection head-on.

“The truth of the matter is that when someone is impeached, he has no business going around and misleading Kenyans. We need to understand and appreciate that the nation and the interests of the people are bigger than an individual.”

As 2027 draws closer, Mudavadi issued a call to unity especially for the Western region.

“My hallmark in Kenyan politics has always been that we need to embrace and respect one another for us to build a united and prosperous nation and a better society, irrespective of our political affiliations and competition.”

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to devolution, proudly referencing his own legacy as a key architect of Kenya’s decentralization framework.

“This government fully supports devolution. I was the pioneer minister who led to the birth of the key legislations that govern devolved units to this day. We will continue to ensure devolution works for every Kenyan.”

Mudavadi made these remarks in Sabatia, Vihiga County, during the burial of Mzee Aggrey Luseno, a visionary and pioneer in Kenya’s corporate space. Mzee Luseno’s career at British American Tobacco, where he rose to become one of the first African directors in a multinational, was remembered with pride and reverence.

“Today, we celebrate a man who broke barriers and led with dignity. Mzee Luseno leaves behind a legacy not only for Western Kenya, but for the entire nation.”
