MP Salasya melts hearts as he introduces his adorable son to the world: “mweupe kama mimi”

In a moment filled with tenderness and pride, Mumias East MP Salasya has finally unveiled one of his life’s most beautiful chapters-fatherhood. The youthful politician couldn’t hold back his joy as he shared a heartwarming glimpse of his baby boy, months after his quiet arrival into the world.

Captured in a sweet video posted to Instagram, Salasya’s son dressed in a tiny blue onesie lies cozily on a bed, offering a fleeting smile that speaks volumes. For many, it was more than just a baby video; it was a raw, emotional window into a father’s love.

“Mapua ya huyu mtoto ni ya Waluhya… Ni mweupe kama mimi huyu. Aki huyu hata DNA sitaki. Nimekubali, he turning about 4 months,” Salasya wrote lovingly, his pride unmistakable.

The MP added with a touch of cultural sentiment that he longs to have the little one brought to his rural home for a traditional head shave ceremony, a rite of passage in his community.

And indeed, the resemblance is undeniable. From the curve of his nose to his smile, the baby mirrors Salasya so clearly that the MP humorously dismissed any need for a DNA test.

“Inafaa sasa mama ya mtoto amulete home wamunyoe nywele as per the culture.”

Salasya also opened up about the baby’s mother, sharing that their paths first crossed during last year’s Gen Z protests, a detail that added both humor and relatability to the story.

His revelation drew mixed reactions online: while many showered him with congratulations and admired his honesty, others pointed out the irony of romance blossoming during a time of national struggle.

Still, it was the raw joy in his voice and the sparkle in his eyes that won over most hearts.

One fan commented, “You can see how much this child means to him. That love is real.”

In just a few minutes of footage, Peter Salasya reminded us all of something universal: no title, no political status, no moment in history is bigger than the joy of holding your child.
