Multi-award-winning Jamaican artist Chris Martin has touched down in Kenya ahead of his highly anticipated show this weekend, sending his fans into a frenzy! It’s been six years since the “I’m a Big Deal” hitmaker last performed in the country, and his return has been nothing short of monumental.
Chris will take the stage on February 8, 2025, at Nairobi’s iconic Uhuru Gardens, and the excitement is mutual—he’s just as thrilled to be back in “home” as he lovingly calls Kenya.

Speaking with Mpasho at the JKIA arrivals terminal, the 37-year-old dancehall sensation opened up about possible collaborations, his love for Kenya, and so much more.
Christopher Martin at JKIA:
When asked how he felt receiving the invite from Sounds of Africa to perform in Kenya, Christopher couldn’t contain his excitement, describing the moment as surreal. His admiration for Kenya runs deep.
“I was super happy! I was so, so, SO excited!” he said, beaming with joy. “Last time? I think it was 2019… that’s five years ago! I should never be away from home for that long!”

The “Cheaters Prayer” crooner continued gushing over Kenya, revealing how much he enjoys being back in the 254.
“Now that I’m here again… I’m just so excited, so happy. It’s a huge blessing to be in Nairobi. I love this place.”
Why Kenya Feels Like Home to Chris Martin:
So, what is it about Kenya that makes Christopher feel so at home? He didn’t need many words to explain—his emotions say it all.
“It’s like my home, like I said. The love is real! I mean, Kenya… it’s just…,” he pauses, struggling to find the right words, “It’s just in me. I love the people and the people love me right back.”
He continues, “Kenya is Christopher Martin, and Christopher Martin is Kenya. Every time I step off the plane, the love is there—pure, never diluted. From the moment I land, I feel it, and I’m so grateful for that. I respect and appreciate every one of my fans.”
On Future Collaborations:
Christopher is also open to collaborating with Kenyan artists.
“As long as the opportunity arises, I’m always down to make music,” he says. “I’ve been in touch with young singers and producers, and maybe this is the trip where it finally happens!”
A Performance to Remember:
With his performance just around the corner, Chris promises an electrifying show on February 8th. He teases his fans, “You’re getting 100% live energy, no recorded tracks, just pure vibes!”
