In the interview, Matubia revealed that 2023 was one of her toughest years.
She spoke openly about the pain of her breakup, which became public knowledge in her community, and how the constant rejection in her life, from family to partners, has shaped her.
“Every night I used to sleep and tell God, ‘Please take me,'” she admitted. “Out there, people saw me winning, but inside, I was broken.”

She also shared the painful experience of feeling disconnected from her second daughter, Zendaya, due to the trauma of past mistakes, including choosing a partner who rejected their child.
“In the house, I was not resenting my second daughter, Zendaya, because I hated her; I was resenting her because I felt I did not learn from my previous mistake. I ended up choosing for her a father that did not like her. People used to insult me; I wish they knew,”.
Adding, “I fought… I fought for the dad to be in the daughter’s life. But he did not. And you cannot force a man. I tried… And was like I can only do so much.”

The emotional toll of this rejection was immense, but Matubia revealed that, despite these struggles, she has found peace in co-parenting with her first baby daddy, while still navigating a complicated relationship with her second.
Though her journey has been fraught with challenges, Matubia remains focused on her children and her personal growth.

“I’m not looking for love right now,” she said, emphasizing her commitment to healing and raising her kids in a positive environment.
