Ugandan musician Jose Chameleone has reconnected with his son Abba Marcus in a US hospital after a heartfelt public call-out. A few weeks ago, Abba took to social media, expressing frustration over his father’s alcohol struggles, which he claimed worsened his health.
Through his family’s efforts, Chameleone was flown from Kampala to the US, where he is now receiving treatment. A viral video shows Abba caring for his father in the hospital, showcasing the bond between the two.
“Time is a healer. Thank you to everyone who’s prayed for me and wished me well – Asante sana,” Chameleone wrote in a touching post.
He also expressed gratitude to those supporting him during this difficult time:

“Thank you to all who are wishing me a healthy recovery. The doctors are doing their best, and I’m trying my best too. @fredzink1 @weasel_manizo @abbamarcus @julietzawedde – thank you for encouraging me. Love you all.”
Abba’s Emotional Plea
In a candid TikTok video, Abba Marcus shared his pain over his father’s condition, calling out the impact of alcohol on Chameleone’s health.
“My father struggles with alcohol addiction and has for a while now, leading to the weight loss everyone’s noticed. It hurts to see my mother blamed online when she has nothing to do with this,” he revealed.
Abba didn’t hold back, also criticizing his father’s parents:
“Never in my life have I seen such unconcerned parents. I’ve already lost two uncles due to irresponsibility. Honestly, I don’t even want to be associated with them. Nobody would know who the Mayanjas were without my father.”
Urging fans to rally together, Abba Marcus stressed the need for his father to prioritize his health:

“I’m angry because my father’s selfish decisions put him at risk. He has four other children who need him alive. Despite repeated warnings, he chose to drink, harming his pancreas. It’s heartbreaking.”
