Tanzanian Bongo artist Mbosso is making waves with his decision to leave Diamond Platnumz’s WCB Wasafi record label after eight years of collaboration.
This move, announced by Diamond’s close confidant, Baba Levo, has stunned many fans, but it comes with respect and understanding.

Mbosso will depart without any financial demands, a gesture symbolizing the deep mutual respect he holds for Diamond and the Wasafi family.
Baba Levo confirmed that this heartfelt departure is part of Wasafi’s future plan to sign nine fresh talents in 2025, marking the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter for both Mbosso and the label.

Mbosso’s departure is different from past splits within the Wasafi family, like Harmonize’s bitter fallout. Unlike Harmonize, who accused Diamond of jealousy and sabotaging his success, Mbosso’s exit is peaceful and rooted in mutual respect.
“If I leave Wasafi, it will be because Diamond and the team feel it’s time, and I will leave with no bad blood,” Mbosso shared, emphasizing the importance of leaving on good terms.

The hitmaker, who joined Wasafi in 2017, has experienced a meteoric rise in his career, producing chart-toppers like Tamu and Hodari.
Yet, despite his success under Wasafi’s banner, Mbosso’s desire for independence as an artist and respect for his mentors paved the way for his decision.

Harmonize’s Bitter Split with Wasafi
In stark contrast, Harmonize’s departure was filled with bitterness, fueled by accusations of Diamond’s jealousy and attempts to sabotage his career.
Harmonize’s public feud with Wasafi highlighted the struggles many artists face within the industry. “Whenever an artist starts to outshine Diamond, the fallout is inevitable,” Harmonize remarked, citing other musicians like Ali Kiba and Ben Pol who also parted ways with Wasafi under tense circumstances.

Mbosso’s exit, however, is a story of grace, respect, and the natural progression of an artist seeking new horizons.
As he prepares to explore his future independently, fans can only hope that his next chapter will be as successful as the one he built with Wasafi.
