From October 11th-13th, the University of Nairobi (Main Campus) buzzed with aspiring actors hoping to be part of this iconic series that has captivated millions across the continent with its authentic storytelling about the real-life challenges young people face.
In a thrilling twist, MTV Shuga Mashariki offered a platform for fresh talent both in-person and virtually, welcoming aspiring actors from every corner of Kenya.
The opportunity to join the series’ rich legacy drew countless hopefuls eager to make their mark in the world of entertainment.
Leading this powerful new cast are Serah Wanjiru, Basil Mungai, Matthew Ngugi, Wilson Muchemi, Fatuma Gichuru, Julie Brenda, Fridah Mumbe, Mariam Bishar, and Makena Kahuha.

This season is a landmark collaboration with Shujaaz Inc., aimed at challenging gender norms and examining their profound impact on the lives of youth in Kenya, as part of the Surround Sound Kenya Programme.
Behind the camera, the series will be directed by three celebrated Kenyan directors: June Ndinya, Mkaiwawi Mwakaba, and Likarion Wainaina—ensuring the portrayal of stories that truly resonate with audiences.
