Kenyan comedy powerhouse Njugush and his wife, Celestine ‘Wakavinye’ Ndinda, have just hit a major milestone in their entrepreneurial journey by acquiring a new matatu named ‘Toria’!
The dynamic duo, who made a bold leap into the matatu business in 2024, have just added a second vehicle to their growing fleet—and it’s a game-changer.
Kicking off 2025 in style, the couple proudly introduced their new matatu, affectionately named Toria after their second-born son.
This heartwarming gesture follows the tradition they started with their first matatu, Tugi, named after their first son. It’s clear: family is at the heart of this thriving business.
The new matatu operates under Super Metro Sacco, one of Nairobi’s most popular public transport companies, further cementing the couple’s place in the transport industry.
A Journey of Success and Support
The announcement was met with an outpouring of love and support from their creative industry friends. Comedian and entrepreneur Eddie Butita couldn’t contain his excitement, joking about possibly starting his own matatu business, while celebrating Njugush and Wakavinye’s growth:
“Kila mtoto na basi yake, I’m learning sitawaangusha. Acha nione kama nitaanza na basi ama mtoto, lakini nashuku mtoto ndio rahisi kwanza!”

Film producer and director Judy Nyawira also took to social media to express her admiration, praising the couple for their continuing blessings: “The blessings of the Lord multiplieth. KABAT 2.0 aka TORIA! Well done Mama T & Baba T!”

A Heartfelt Tribute to Jahmby Koikai
But the real emotional moment comes in the tribute to the late reggae icon Jahmby Koikai. The interior of Toria is decorated with photos of the beloved media personality, a beautiful and heartfelt homage.
“The thing that has completely melted my heart with Kabat 2.0 is that the only pictures inside this matatu ni za Jahmby Koikai. Mama T and Baba T’s small way of paying tribute to our fallen soldier,” shared Judy Nyawira.

A Family Celebration and a Spiritual Dedication
In a deeply personal ceremony, the couple received Toria in Ruiru, surrounded by their extended family, including Baba Tim and Mama Tim.
The day wasn’t just about business—it was about giving thanks and committing the new vehicle to the Lord. “To everyone who will ride in this matatu on the Kitengela route, tumekuombea,” Njugush shared, sealing the moment with prayer.

Building an Empire, One Step at a Time
This latest venture isn’t just about increasing their revenue. With the addition of Toria, Njugush and Celestine are creating new employment opportunities and paving the way for a lasting legacy.
As they continue to grow their empire, one thing is clear: their passion, creativity, and love for family are the driving forces behind their success.
