“Peleka kwa Ruto!” — Kibra MP Peter Orero clashes with Larry Madowo in shocking road rage incident

Kenyans are outraged after Kibra MP Peter Orero was caught in a heated roadside altercation with CNN journalist Larry Madowo, in what’s now being described as a blatant display of arrogance and impunity.

The dramatic exchange, captured on video by Madowo himself, shows Orero’s Toyota Prado overlapping traffic, attempting to bypass vehicles by illegally using the wrong side of the road.

When Madowo refused to give way and questioned the move, the MP responded furiously — shouting: “Peleka kwa Ruto!”

Unfazed, Larry Madowo calmly replied, “I will take it to Ruto,” standing his ground in the face of threats and insults.

The video has since gone viral, sparking national debate about leadership, entitlement, and rule of law in Kenya.

Many Kenyans expressed disappointment, questioning how an elected official could behave so recklessly — not only breaking traffic laws but also hurling insults when confronted.

“Is this the kind of leadership Kibra deserves?” one user asked on X (formerly Twitter).
“If he can act like this on the road, what happens in Parliament?” added another.

Ironically, records from Parliament show that MP Orero — a former high school principal — is among the least active lawmakers, having sponsored no bills since his election in 2022.

According to the Kenya Traffic Act, overlapping is a punishable offence, attracting a fine of up to Ksh10,000, or six months in jail — or more if deemed dangerous driving.

Yet, for many Kenyans, the issue isn’t just about traffic laws — it’s about the culture of impunity and leaders who feel they are above the law.

As Kenyans demand accountability, one thing is clear: a camera, a voice, and the courage to speak up can shake the powerful — and remind them that the law applies to all.

Kibra MP’s Driver Arraigned After Viral Clash with Larry Madowo

Kibra MP Peter Orero’s driver has been arraigned in court following a viral video showing him violating traffic rules — footage captured by CNN journalist Larry Madowo.

The clip, which sparked public outrage, shows Orero’s vehicle overlapping traffic and hurling insults. The MP appeared unfazed, telling Madowo, “Peleka kwa Ruto!”

Following backlash, police launched a probe, with officials confirming only emergency and designated VIP vehicles are allowed to obstruct traffic.

Authorities say the viral footage will be used to aid prosecution as Kenyans demand an end to VIP road impunity.
