Kenyan songstress and actress Sanaipei Tande is back on the screen in a major way, starring in the thrilling Netflix film Kash Money! Released on January 31, 2025, this gripping project marks her exciting return to film after a brief hiatus.

peaking exclusively to TUKO.co.ke, she shared how the challenging role pushed her boundaries, especially as it required her to speak entirely in English—something she had never done in her previous projects, which typically mixed English and Kiswahili.
“I was drawn to it because it was a role I’d never played before. I wanted to see if I could pull off being a socialite wife.
Additionally, “It was a challenge, especially since all the shows I’ve done have had a mix of English and Kiswahili, so doing pure English was quite a task,” Sanaipei explained.
Despite her time away from the screen, the talented actress revealed that she was still busy behind the scenes, working on various projects throughout 2023.
Kash Money didn’t just align with her professional values, but also offered the perfect challenge she was looking for in her next acting role.
“I didn’t choose the role—I was offered it, and I took up the challenge. It didn’t infringe on my rules as an actress,” she said.
Sanaipei also opened up about her excitement for being part of Kash Money, her very first Netflix film, sharing the experience was a “huge” milestone for her and a testament to the global recognition of Kenyan talent.
“We have so many talented actors and actresses in Kenya, and while we’re getting global recognition, I feel we need more appreciation at home.
Coincidentally, Being part of Kash Money and working with Insignia Productions is a huge opportunity—getting seen on such a global platform is a game changer,” she said.
