Jamaican superstar Shenseea has expressed heartfelt thanks to Kenya for the warm welcome she received, despite a dramatic turn of events at her Raha Fest performance on New Year’s Eve.

As tensions escalated, security acted swiftly to remove Shenseea from the stage, with the police deploying tear gas to control the crowd.

Frustrated, Shenseea took to social media, voicing her disappointment. However, just days later, she took a more gracious tone, sharing her gratitude for the Kenyan experience. “Though we owe each other a performance, I still had an amazing time, Kenya. Thank you,” she posted, leaving fans hopeful for a future return.

Before the drama unfolded, Shenseea had enjoyed some sightseeing at the Maasai Mara, sharing stunning visuals of her adventure.

Despite the brief stage setback, she went on to perform at a Nairobi club, proving her commitment to her fans.

Raha Fest Organizers Address the Chaos

Raha Fest organizers have released a statement following the disruption, acknowledging the chaos while expressing appreciation for their supporters.

The statement emphasized their efforts to provide world-class experiences, aiming to rival top events in South Africa, Ghana, and Nigeria.

While praising the success of previous events like Raha Rave and the first day of Raha Fest, the organizers admitted the finale headlined by Shenseea fell short due to the unruly actions of a section of the crowd.

They pointed out that their security measures were not at fault, but rather the growing sense of entitlement among some Kenyan concertgoers.

“We genuinely apologize to all those whose Raha experience was affected… We set out to provide an excellent experience for you, your friends, and family. However, some of us Kenyans failed us”.,

Adding that they hoped 2025 would bring positive change to the Kenyan entertainment scene.

The statement concluded with a hopeful note: God bless the people and the Republic of Kenya.”
