Why Was Shenseea’s Kenyan Concert Initially Postponed?
The much-anticipated Kenyan concert by Jamaican Dancehall superstar Chinsea Linda Lee, popularly known as Shenseea, was unexpectedly postponed, leaving fans eagerly awaiting her return. Initially set for August 26 at Uhuru Gardens, the event was rescheduled for a later date in October and now it is confirmed to be on December 31, 2024.
In a heartfelt statement, the promoters expressed their regret:
“We are deeply sorry that after long consultations between our team and Shenseea’s management team, we have made a decision to postpone the festival. This decision has not been easy on both parties.”

Acknowledging the disappointment felt by fans who had cleared their calendars for the big day, the organizers requested patience:
“We understand the disappointment you may feel, especially those who had locked in the date. However, we seek your patience and understanding during this time as we shall bounce back with a thriving and vibrant experience soon.”

They reassured fans with a commitment to transparency, promising updates on the new date and other details to ensure a smooth transition:
“We shall keep you posted on all the latest developments and any details regarding the festival as well as the new date. Your support means everything to us hence we want to ensure that you are fully informed.”

The Sababisha Festival promoters ended their announcement with a heartfelt apology to fans:
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, but we assure you of our commitment to make the concert an incredible success.”
Fans were also reassured that previously purchased tickets remain valid, alleviating concerns about refunds or cancellations.
Shenseea, known for her collaborations with global icons like Vybz Kartel, Sean Paul, and Christina Aguilera, continues to be a beloved figure in the music industry.
Though the delay was a setback, anticipation for her Nairobi performance only continues to build. Fans now eagerly await the promised “thriving and vibrant experience” to end the year in style.
