“They came to destroy me”: Willy Paul recounts painful night and loss as goons raided his liquor store

Kenyan artist Willy Paul is counting losses and nursing heartbreak after a brazen night attack on his Nairobi liquor store, Pozze Liquor Store located at Safari Business Arcade, USIU Road.

In a chilling Instagram post, the musician revealed that a group of hired goons broke into his business premises, vandalised property, and made away with high-end liquor — all while attempting to frame the raid as a student protest.

“They tried to make it look like students were behind it, but this was a well-planned robbery. Their only mission was to steal,” Willy Paul wrote.

The Thursday night attack left a trail of destruction — shattered windows, a damaged vehicle, and a shaken but resilient business owner.

The goons even attempted to steal the CCTV hard drive, a move the artist believes was aimed at erasing evidence.

Though no injuries were reported, the psychological toll is evident. The break-in occurred just hours before a major performance by the artist at his own venue during the Mazingira Day Party, raising suspicions that the attack may have been timed to cause maximum disruption.

“They came to destroy my hustle. But I’m still standing. And so is my business,” he added defiantly.

Despite the trauma and loss, Willy Paul assured his fans and customers that BND remains open and operational. He also confirmed that the matter had been reported to police and that investigations are ongoing.

Fans flooded his comments with messages of support, demanding that justice be served.

This incident comes amid rising concerns over insecurity in Nairobi. Just days earlier, actor and filmmaker Abel Mutua was robbed at knifepoint in Kahawa West, escaping unharmed but emotionally shaken after being attacked near the KUTRRH morgue.

“I could have ended up in a fridge,” Mutua said grimly.

As authorities pursue the culprits, Kenyans are left asking a familiar question: When will the streets — and businesses — be safe from this growing wave of urban crime?

Willy Paul Bounces Back After Liquor Store Raid — Reopens Stronger Than Ever

Willy Paul broke his silence on social media with a powerful message: “@pozze_liquor never shut down — we stood tall through the storm. The shelves are restocked, the damage repaired, and we’re back — stronger, louder, and ten times better.

Thank you for your prayers, fam — the damage was heavy, but not heavier than the God I serve. Come through. The doors are open. #PozzeLiquor”
