US President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to sign key executive orders on his first day in office, promising to act with historic speed and strength following his swearing-in ceremony.
Speaking to supporters at a Washington DC arena on Sunday, January 19, 2025, Trump previewed his agenda for the next four years, celebrating his victory in the November 2024 election.
He pledged to take swift, unilateral action on a wide range of issues, using his presidential powers to launch mass deportation efforts, roll back environmental regulations, and end diversity programs.
“We put America first, and it all starts tomorrow,” he told the crowd. “You’re going to have a lot of fun watching television tomorrow,” he added.
Trump is expected to sign over 200 executive actions on Monday, including legally binding executive orders.

“Every radical and foolish executive order of the Biden administration will be repealed within hours of when I take the oath of office,” he declared.
Trump also promised to introduce a series of new initiatives, including ramping up artificial intelligence programs, creating a Department of Government Efficiency (Doge), releasing records related to President John F. Kennedy’s 1963 assassination, and directing the military to develop an Iron Dome missile defense system.
Additionally, he pledged to stop transgender women from competing in female sports categories and to return control of education to individual states.
“You’re going to see executive orders that will make you extremely happy,” Trump said. “We have to set our country on the proper course.”
A key focus of his executive actions will be addressing illegal immigration, a central issue in his campaign. Trump is also expected to issue pardons for individuals convicted of participating in the January 6, 2021, Capitol riots, referring to the rioters as “hostages” and promising that his decision would satisfy everyone on January 20, 2025.
