South African DJ sensation Uncle Waffles has expressed her deep disappointment and heartbreak over the mishandled organization of the “For the Love of Amapiano” event in Kenya.
The highly anticipated concert, held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the ASK Dome along Ngong Road, quickly descended into chaos due to poor event management, overcrowding, and frustrating delays.
What should have been a night of celebration turned into a disheartening experience for both fans and the artist.

In a candid statement to her Kenyan fans, Uncle Waffles revealed her shock and frustration at the series of issues that plagued the event, from technical sound problems before her performance to the mishandling of her team.
“This was an event I was so excited for, but it quickly became something I never expected,” she shared.
Most troubling, however, was the mistreatment of her Kenyan supporters. Reports of attendees being pushed around, mishandled, and treated carelessly by event organizers and security personnel flooded in.
As tensions grew, the situation escalated to the point where police were forced to use tear gas to disperse the agitated crowd, forcing many concertgoers to leave the venue prematurely.
Uncle Waffles, visibly upset, emphasised that the safety and well-being of her fans is always her top priority. “I could not continue my performance while people were visibly uncomfortable and at risk of harm,” she said.
“This isn’t what I wanted for the people who came to show love and support.”

Addressing the organisers directly, she expressed how deeply they had let down not only her but also the 10,000+ attendees who had come out to enjoy the event.
“You’ve failed not only me, but the many fans who trusted this event to be an enjoyable experience,” she said, urging them to take accountability and improve their future events.
In closing, Uncle Waffles conveyed a hopeful message for her Kenyan fans, promising to return under better circumstances.

“Kenya, I hope to see you again soon with a much better outcome. I love you guys so much.”
This incident has sparked significant conversation online about the importance of proper event management, highlighting the responsibility of organizers to ensure the safety and satisfaction of both artists and attendees.
