Media personality and powerhouse Willis Raburu has broken his silence on the Furaha City Festival fiasco, where chaos erupted over Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz’s no-show and an explosive clash involving Kenyan artist Willy Paul.
In a dramatic and fiery statement, Raburu laid it all bare, pulling no punches about what really went down behind the scenes.

Raburu Sets the Record Straight
Taking to social media on December 11, the media personality and event organizer defended his role, accusing Willy Paul of stirring unnecessary chaos while highlighting his own efforts to ensure the event’s success.

“To my brother Willy Paul, I can NEVER take away from the fact that you are a GREAT performer. But you know the truth. You know who was sorting you out backstage, who came to get you, and who ensured you and your dancers had access to the stage. You know it was me,” Raburu declared.
Calling for Discipline
Raburu, who revealed he had personally handled logistics for Willy Paul, including arranging his 40 dancers, called for professionalism.
He also reminded Willy Paul of his pivotal role in securing his recent betting firm deal, urging him to uphold discipline and decorum at future events.

Applauding Success Amid Drama
Despite the tension, Raburu celebrated the festival as a milestone, applauding the artists who delivered stellar performances. He thanked fans for their feedback, recognizing it as a crucial step in improving Kenya’s music scene.
“Thank you for all the comments and concerns about veracity and character. They show we’re edging closer to the oneness that will ultimately change this country for the better,” he reflected.

Rallying Behind Kenyan Artists
Raburu emphasized the need for unity and truth in the Kenyan music industry. He urged fans to support local artists not just with words but with actions, pointing out how Tanzanian stars like Diamond Platnumz continue to dominate Kenyan airwaves.
“Let’s actually listen to their music more, view their videos more. Based on this year’s stats, we’ve failed our own artists, and it’s time for us to be honest about it,” he stated.

A Pledge to Kenyan Talent
Unshaken by the controversy, Raburu vowed to continue championing Kenyan artists. He expressed gratitude to his fans, promising to remain steadfast in his mission to elevate Kenya’s music industry.
“I use this only to say let’s be truthful. Let’s be honest. Together, we can achieve greatness,” Raburu concluded.
