Reality TV star Zari Hassan recently spoke candidly about her relationship with Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz during an interview with Pulse Live Kenya’s Muthoni Irungu on January 23 stating that she has a vibe with Diamond.
Zari shared insights into her bond with Diamond, her marriage to Shakib, and the authenticity of the popular show Young, Famous & African.

Zari: “Diamond and I Have a Vibe”
When asked about her relationship with Diamond, Zari revealed that while they share a positive connection, it’s not based on romantic chemistry.
She clarified that the good vibes between them are often mistaken for something more, explaining that it stems from effective co-parenting for the sake of their children.
“We are still co-parenting. Me and Diamond have this thing that when we get together, it’s just good vibes, which people mistake for chemistry.
Adding,” It’s just good vibes because we are not enemies. We are raising our kids together,” she said.

This response contrasts with Diamond’s portrayal on Young, Famous & African, where he claimed Zari still had feelings for him and could be won back easily.
Zari Discusses Her Marriage to Shakib
Zari also addressed the tension in her marriage to Shakib, who had concerns about her interactions with Diamond.
The issue was highlighted on the show when Diamond suggested that Zari still wanted to have children with him—a claim Zari denied.
While Shakib initially doubted his wife’s version of events, he later came to trust her.

“My husband has an issue with me being around Diamond because the vibes are different, so if I can just cut off the vibe, I understand now because I’m married.
Additionally, “I need to respect him and the marriage. So all of that is in the past,” Zari explained.

Praise for Shakib’s Qualities
Zari didn’t hold back in praising her husband, describing him as humble, prayerful, and a strong leader who knows how to keep her grounded.
She shared how Shakib has a calming effect on her and helps put things into perspective.

“My husband is very humble, sweet, and prayerful. He’s very leading, humbles me because he’s humble, and puts me in my place,” she said.
Is Young, Famous & African Scripted?
Zari made it clear that Young, Famous & African is not scripted. “Our show is not scripted. It is what it is. It’s reality. What you see is what you get,” she stated.
“I cannot defend myself because what you see on the show is me. Most of the time I’m not understood. I will not sit around and watch you disrespect me, my family; I will step in. People bring out that character in me. But if you play nice, I play nice.”

She also responded to accusations of being an instigator, explaining that while she doesn’t consider herself one, her reactions are often driven by how others treat her.
“I prefer to maintain peace when people are respectful towards me,” she added.
Zari’s candid conversation gives fans a deeper understanding of her relationships, both personal and professional, and the real dynamics behind the drama seen on Young, Famous & African.
